    Apollo Theater

George Keister designed and constructed this building in 1914 initially for a whites-only burlesque theater. Back in 1934, Sidney Cohen has purchased this theater and opens its doors for Harlem’s black community.     Beacon Theatre is located in Broadway and its history begins in 1926 when film producer Herbert Lubin made the determination that NY needs a chain of movie theatres for motion pictures. This theater owns 2,894 seats and it is designed by architect Walter Ahlschlager.
